Coral-X originally started as a spin-off of Rikor Green Textiles Group
When HP Nollet and Sam Gong, owners of Rikor Green Textiles Group, realized that they were producing every year over 5 million door mats and scatter rugs made from virgin raw materials, they decided it was time for a change. They replaced all virgin PP staple fiber by recycled polyester; this was just a matter of implementing existing technology. The next logical step was then to start to produce and sell the recycled polyester fiber by themselves as well.
That did not provide a solution for the tufted rugs and the 3 million square meters of artificial grass. There was however no recycled PP yarn on the market and the yarn extrusion lines could not work with other materials. At that point, the decision was taken to set up an R&D team to create a fundamentally new technology that would change the industry. Rather than implementing existing technology, this groundbreaking project involved a search for a reliable source for raw materials, converting the post-consumer materials into a material that is ready for extrusion, produce the yarn and when needed finished products, all with similar characteristics as virgin material.
Today, Coral X is a brand that stands for 100% post-consumer raw materials, with a main focus on the textile industry but numerous applications outside as well.
